Job Description
The Head of Commercial (Country Commercial Manager) will lead the national commercial strategy and execution for container shipping services. This role drives revenue growth, strengthens key partnerships, and oversees the national sales and customer-facing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the national commercial strategy aligned with regional and global objectives.
- Drive initiatives to maximize revenue, market share, and profitability.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across industry segments.
- Lead and coach the national sales and commercial teams to achieve targets.
- Build strong relationships with key accounts (shippers, NVOCCs, freight forwarders).
- Oversee contract negotiations, pricing, and service agreements.
- Manage forecasts, budgets, and revenue performance.
- Collaborate with Trade, Operations, Finance, and Customer Service for seamless execution.
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and adjust strategies accordingly.
Qualifications
Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Maritime Studies, International Trade, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the container shipping industry, with 5+ years in a senior sales/commercial leadership role.
- Proven track record in revenue growth, key account management, and team leadership.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.English Level
