Key ResponsibilitiesA. Solution Architect Responsibilities• Lead client workshops to capture As-Is planning and scheduling processes, identify pain points, and design To-Be solutions on Opcenter APS.• Design end-to-end scheduling logic: forward / backward scheduling, bottleneck-based sequencing, finite capacity planning, and constraint propagation aligned with the client's manufacturing model.• Define KPIs and success metrics for the planning solution (on-time delivery, schedule adherence, changeover reduction, capacity utilization, etc.).• Architect integration with surrounding systems — ERP (SAP, Oracle, D365), MES, shopfloor data collection — defining data flows, master data ownership, and synchronization rules.• Produce solution proposals, technical estimations, and effort breakdowns for presales engagements; support sales discussions with technical credibility.• Present solution designs and trade-offs to client stakeholders ranging from production planners and plant managers up to operations directors and CIOs.• Act as the technical authority on the project — challenge client assumptions on planning logic when needed, and propose alternatives grounded in best practice.B. Application Engineer Responsibilities• Configure Opcenter APS models: resources, products, BOM, routing, calendars, capacity profiles, and constraint rules.• Design and implement scheduling rules and sequencing logic to meet client-specific planning requirements.• Develop custom logic and automation through scripting (VBScript, VB.NET) for schedule events, custom rules, and tailored business logic.• Build and customize reports, dashboards, and user views inside Opcenter APS.• Implement data integration between Opcenter APS and external systems (ERP / MES /data warehouse) using SQL, web services, or file-based interfaces.• Conduct internal testing, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and resolve defects through to system stabilization.• Provide hyper-care and post-go-live support, including planner training and knowledge transfer.C. Cross-cutting & Team Responsibilities• Produce project documentation: As-Is / To-Be analysis, FRS, Solution Design Document, Configuration Workbook, Test Cases, User Manual.• Collaborate closely with PMs, BAs, and partner consultants throughout the engagement.• Contribute to building the Opcenter APS practice through reusable templates, accelerators, and best-practice libraries.• Mentor junior team members and share domain and technical knowledge through internal training and code reviews.
