  A Software Quality Assurance Specialist analyses software specifications, in the form a user story, and designs and develops test cases that ensure the software meets the requirements of the specification and is free of significant and obvious defects. Depending on the area being tested, scripts may be automated or manual.
  
  Job Responsibilities
  •Analyze, design, and develop QA test scripts
  •Execute detailed testing of software as part of the normal development cycle
  •Participation in backlog grooming, sprint planning, three amigos, daily standups, weekly meetings with QA manager, and other meetings as required
  •Work cooperatively with software developer to isolate software defects found in testing
  •Perform regression testing of release candidates
  •Update status as appropriate in the sprint tracking tool
  •Participate in group interview panels for new candidates
  
  
  In addition to exceptional skills in test design and execution, the Software Quality Assurance Specialist must be able to (1) determine if a test failure is a result of a bad test case or if it is an actual software defect, (2) begin the investigation into a software defect to determine probable causes (user interface, JavaScript, or server-side issue, for example), (3) analyze and relate web service responses (in various formats including XML) to those expected within the specialist’s level of expertise.
  
  All quality assurance engineers are key members of the software development team and work cooperatively with other team members in Bangkok, London, and other locales. The development teams use a number of tools and methodologies in the development cycle including Agile, Scrum, and continuous integration.
